We’d like to shine a light on one of our amazing volunteers, Evie!

Evie began volunteering for Platform for Life as part of our Operations Team, taking on the role of Administration Volunteer. She initially applied for the role to gain valuable work experience in the charity sector.

Meet Evie: Key Volunteer at Platform for Life Enhancing Charity Operations

Volunteering from our office one morning a week, Evie quickly picked up fundamental administrative skills, assisting with data entry, sending letters, and keeping files up to date. From here, Evie’s confidence in the role grew, and she began to assist with other projects and tasks which interested her, including helping with our communications and social media. Evie has become a key member of our Operations Team and has supported our office in running smoothly and effectively.

Evie also volunteered to support our weekly wellbeing drop in, which she now does on a regular basis. At the wellbeing drop in, Evie interacts directly with our clients. From making cups of tea and taking part in craft activities to providing a listening ear to those in attendance, by participating in the well-being drop in Evie has developed her skillset even further.

Since starting at Platform for Life, Evie has taken advantage of available training, giving her valuable experience to add to her CV. Evie is a fantastic, active volunteer, and she has made a big impact on our charity.  In volunteering with our Operations Team, Evie has helped our office run smoothly and enhanced our communications and social media with her artistic touches! In addition to this, by supporting our wellbeing drop in, Evie has helped provide our clients with a safe, social space where they can meet others in similar circumstances to themselves and begin to develop connections with new people.

We truly appreciate all the help Evie has given us since she started volunteering, and we can’t wait to see where her volunteering journey takes her. If Evie’s story has inspired you to volunteer, please take a look at our volunteering page for further information.
